THE POLAR EXPRESS

A young boy lies awake in his room one snowy Christmas Eve, excited and alert.

Breathing silently. Hardly moving. Waiting.

He's listening for a sound he's afraid that he might never hear – the ringing bells of Santa's sleigh.

The time is five minutes to midnight.

Suddenly, the boy is startled by a thunderous roar. Clearing the mist from his window he sees the most amazing sight – a gleaming black train rumbles to a stop right in front of his house, the steam from its powerful engine hissing through the night sky and the softly falling snowflakes.

The boy rushes outside, clad only in his pajamas and slippers, and is met by the train's conductor who seems to be waiting just for him. “Well, are you coming?” the conductor asks.

“Where?”

“Why, to the North Pole, of course. This is the Polar Express!”

Generic Brand Baby Formula

I am a mother myself thus I know how costly it is to buy branded baby formula.  When I got pregnant, I didn't plan to feed my child with infant formula, I was really planning to breastfeed my child.  At first, I thought I can do it without the aid of baby formula, but after one month, my breastmilk production just gradually stopped.  I didn't have a choice but to resort to baby formula.

I admit I used Similac then.  Then as weeks go by when my baby consumes more milk everyday, I decided to switch to generic formula  because I have seen the big difference of its price.  Switching to store brand formula  was not a problem because I have found out that all infant formulas are nutritionally equal.  They all adhere to the same FDA standards pursuant to the Infant Formula Act.  All infant formula sold in the USA should have the same level of nutrients required for the growth of healthy babies.

Anyway, few months back, Similac issued a recall of some of its infant formula due to contamination.  I am sure that incidents like this will encourage more mothers to switch to generic formula.  So, if you want to save around $600 a year per baby, buy store brand infant formula sold at retailers including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target, Kroger, Walgreens, CVS, and Babies “R” Us.

Monday Movie Meme: Snoozer

When it comes to watching a movie, I can say that I never snoozed on any movie because when I don't like the movie, I would tell my hubby, the movie is not worth my time, I would rather sleep.

There are just few of the movies that "I walked out, rather than snooze" and that includes: Napoleon Dynamite and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

I know you will disagree with me but I just can't get into these movies. (I know for sure that The Bumbles will disagree with me... )
