For the Love of Writing

I didn't forced my daughter to learn how to write. I just noticed that she was ready to do it on her own. She has a book where she can trace the letters and I was just so surprise that she can do it on her own.

She still has to learn a lot of things but I am glad she is eager to learn. She is into writing these days and she is getting good too.

The 5th Annual Family, Fur & Fun Festival is this Saturday!

Portrait set being used at Saturday's Family, Fur & Fun Festival.
Please be sure to join us this Saturday for a family-friendly, pet-friendly event the whole family will love!  Free admission and free parking too!

The 5th Annual Family, Fur & Fun Festival is Saturday, October 8th, from 10am-3pm at Exploration Peak Park in Mountain's Edge.  Highlights include kids earning Animal Hero Badges by participating in fun, educational activities while they learn about animals and their care, as well as $5 microchip IDs on-site courtesy of Aloha Animal Hospital, rescued dogs for adoption from Nevada SPCA, and so much more.  Each year approximately 6,000 animal lovers of all ages attend, many with their dogs (on leash), to celebrate animal rescue and enjoy a day in the park.

A top draw at the Festival each year is Pet'ographique's professional pet portraits.  The sample image above is the portrait set Pet'ographique chose for this year's festival, and it is elegant and glamorous -- the best portrait set yet!  This is an opportunity to get a professional portrait of your loved ones at low cost, all while supporting Nevada SPCA's rescue work.  (Only $20 for 5"x7" and $25 for 8"x10".)

Please visit the Nevada SPCA or Family, Fur & Fun Festival web sites for more details.

Note: Nevada SPCA volunteers organize and operate the annual festivals to support animal rescue.  Sponsorship proceeds benefit Nevada SPCA's humane education efforts in our community.

Father-Daughter Bonding

I am forever grateful that despite the stress at work and the inconvenient schedule of hubby's work, he always make sure that he spends time with our daughter. He always make sure that they play and read books together before and after work.

During weekends, they always spend time together too. Pictures below were taken last weekend

Sofia's Baptism

My new niece was baptized few days ago. They had to have her baptism early because my brother is scheduled to work abroad soon.

This picture was taken at the church where all my siblings were baptized too. This is the church I went to when I was still in the Philippines. This is our parish church.

In the picture is my mom, my brother , my niece and my sister in law. Mom looks chic wearing black tops. She doesn't look like over 70 years old.

Store hopping Saturday

Our weekend went by so fast. We spent our Saturday fishing and store hopping.

We woke up so early last Saturday which was very unusual. We were out fishing around 7am. We only slept a couple of hours but we were all excited to go fishing since we didn't go fishing last week.

Our fishing trip was a failure. We only caught two fishes. We decided to go home around noon. We took our naps and recharge.

After waking up from our nap, we went out to eat at Five Guys hamburger which was really good. Then we went store hopping and end up at Bath Body Works where I bough plenty of goodies because they had 75% off on selected items.

After that we went to Asian stores and buy some Asian goodies and vegetables. We were out and about the whole day.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend folks!

Our Mobile Vacation

We came down here in Mobile to spend our 4th of July weekend. It was a quick decision, we didn't plan it ahead of time. When Mischa told us that they don't have plans we agreed to spend the weekend with them.

The drive going back and forth to Mobile is somewhat long but it doesn't matter. What matters most is we will be able to spend quality time with Mischa and Ben and Andrea will be able to spend few days with Mischa.

Mischa and Andrea are so cute together. Andrea loves the dogs and cat. She enjoyed playing with Ben too. She had a grand time and it is worth all the driving.

Today we will be going back home. It will be hard for Andrea for sure because she keeps on telling us that she don't want to go home and she wants to stay with Mischa.

Movie Date

We went to watch a movie yesterday. It is unusual for us to go out and have fun during weekdays due to hubby's work schedule but since he is on vacation for 1 week, we went to see a movie yesterday.

We watched the movie HOP, it is a movie for kids. Andrea had so much fun!

Seafood Market

We went to the fresh seafood market again yesterday. Thankfully, my daddy-daughter tandem dutifully posed for pictures.

I was able to buy their gourmet sushi once again and I also bought some fish. Going to the fresh seafood market is always a treat for me. It takes an hour drive (back and forth) and going there means I can get fresh fish and my favorite sushi.

The drive is worth it even if my daughter tells me "Mommy, you eat your sushi, I don't like them"
