I was starving and in danger from coyotes.

We have no idea how this beautiful young girl survived in a desert area just south of Las Vegas which is heavily populated with coyotes. 

Residents in the community there saw her from time to time on a small mountain for more than a month.  She was starving and just skin and bones, but they could not catch her.  They feared the worst hearing the howls of the coyotes at night, knowing that she was ever weaker and less able to defend herself or outrun them.

A woman who is a friend of the organization and actively involved in animal rescue brought this situation to our attention.  We assured her that if the dog could be caught that we would be sure to make room for her at Nevada SPCA and give her all of the rehabilitation she needs.

Finally, a volunteer heroically caught the dog and brought her to Nevada SPCA and we named her Megan. 

Megan is a Vizsla & Rhodesian Ridgeback mix -- she has a ridge pattern on her back just like the latter breed -- with captivating gold eyes.  She is now spayed, 2 years of age, gaining weight steadily, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Megan needs a gentle, experienced home where her physical and emotional recovery from her abandonment can continue.  Please ask for her by name when you visit.

Stargazer needs a loving, forever home.

Stargazer is an enchanting, intelligent, and kind German Shepherd mix debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. 

She is so attentive and looks deep in your eyes when you talk with her, trying to understand your every word and sentiment. 

Stargazer is about 4 years of age, spayed, and compatible with other good-natured dogs. 

She needed us when her previous owner became severely ill and could no longer care for her.

I do not want to live in a garage ever again.

Wilson is a friendly, playful, dignified fellow.

He is a handsome Chihuahua, neutered, about 4 years of age, and he gets along wonderfully with other good-natured dogs.  He also reportedly is compatible with cats and mature kids.

Wilson's previous owner admitted to forcing him to live in the garage, which is unacceptable for so many reasons.  Please be patient with him and provide kind guidance so that he can live primarily indoors with you as a cherished member of the family.

Gold Star, a Collie & Golden Retriever mix debuting for adoption.

Gold Star is a remarkably radiant girl debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

She is a gorgeous blend of Collie & Golden Retriever, about 5 years of age, great with other dogs, spayed, and humble in spirit.

Gold Star is very bashful and needs more socialization, so a gentle home environment is a must.

Gold Star needed us when her elderly owner lost her sight and could no longer care for her.

Amazing Grace

Grace is an adorable, exceptionally pretty girl who gets along wonderfully with people and other felines. 

She is very social and wants to have lots of your time and attention daily. 

Grace is a petite, rich grey shorthair with light green eyes, spayed, 6 years of age, now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. 

Grace needed us when her previous owner passed away and she had nowhere to go.

We still act like we are puppies.

At the time of rescue Moxy was very ill with the deadly parvo virus.  We had extensive medical care provided for her and she has triumphantly made a full recovery!

The sisters are quite shy, but their personalities will bloom in a calm, nurturing home environment.

The girls are beautiful American breed guinea pigs, about 18 months of age, and so strongly bonded that they need to be adopted together.

Their previous owner surrendered them because he said his wife is having a baby.

I am beautiful on the inside too.

Marshmallow is an easy-going, stunningly gorgeous Himalayan cat debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. 

She is gentle and exceptionally sweet, spayed, previously declawed, and approximately 10 years of age. 

Marshmallow came from a loving home, but needed us when her previous owner was placed in elderly care living.

Why did she throw us away in a parking lot?

Furby & Finnegan are vibrant, cheerful young soul-mates ready to bless you with a lifetime of enthusiastic, unconditional love. 

Furby is a girl, spayed, Lhasa Apso, 1 year old. Finnegan is a boy, West Highland White Terrier, neutered, 3 years of age.

One of our staff witnessed them being cruelly discarded in a vacant parking lot.

Yukon & Avalanche

Yukon & Avalanche are large, friendly brothers who are comfortable with being handled. 

The boys are albino guinea pigs, about 2 years of age, and so strongly bonded that they need to stay together forever.  Guinea pigs are social animals and their companionship means the world to them. 

We have reason to believe they were rescued from a laboratory or breeding facility, so please show them the love and comforts of a home environment.

We could easily rename Oreo the "Kissing Bandit", as this very affectionate boy insists on giving you doggie licks in gratitude for being kind to him.

Tiara is a tiny lady who would love to your sweet princess.

Tiara needs a hero for her special needs.  She has luxating patellas (kneecaps which can slip and dislocate) -- a condition not uncommon in purebred small dogs -- and needs a less rigorous lifestyle to reduce stress legs on her backlegs.

Mia looks so forlorn, likely because she was unwanted and unloved.  Her previous owner would not even fill out a personality profile to help us learn more about Mia so we can find her a terrific home.

Captain was reportedly sleeping under cars at an apartment complex after his previous owner moved away and just set him loose to fend for himself.

The caring person who finally helped him said he ran up to her and flipped himself on his back, belly up, to demand her attention and plead for care.

Clarissa is only 2 years of age, but we discovered that she has already been handed away to new families at least four times.

Babs, the wonderful hugger.

Babs gives the best hugs.  She hangs her front paws over your shoulder and likes you to hold her against your chest, and then she purrs to her heart's content. 

Babs is a tortie-point Siamese who looks like an owl mixed with a teddy bear.  Her dramatic appearance is due to her collapsed ears, apparently the result of severe and untreated ear infections earlier in her life, and crossed blue eyes. 

Babs has diminished hearing due to the scar tissue in her ears. 

Babs is about 5 years of age, spayed, exceptional with people and other cats, and anxiously awaiting a loving, forever home.

Gomer, a Yorkshire Terrier for adoption.

Gomer is a delightful, super cute youngster with an endearing, affectionate nature.

At the time of rescue Gomer was dodging cars in one of the busiest streets in Vegas with no sign of responsible ownership (not neutered, no microchip ID, no ID tags).

I need a forever home.

Teddy's soulful, pleading eyes are irresistible. 

He is a good-looking, very sweet Cocker Spaniel, 3 years young, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. 

Teddy gets along well with other dogs and needs regular pro grooming. 

We rescued Teddy from a government-funded shelter and he needed hip surgery.  A very generous donor sponsored his surgery, which was successful, and he has healed well. 

Teddy is now ready to join a loving, forever home.

Wilson's revitalization.

Wilson's frown breaks our hearts, but we are working hard to get the sparkle back in his eyes. 

We rescued Wilson from a government-funded shelter.  He was a matted mess, and underneath all of those tangles and painful knots was a hernia. 

Wilson's hernia is repaired, he has been shaved and groomed, and he is now eating premium, probiotic dog food. 

Wilson's future is as bright as can be! 

He is a Shih-Tzu & Lhasa Apso mix, neutered boy, 4 years of age, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Mitzy, a most pleasant feline.

Why was he violent with me?

Watson is a baby boy who yearns for peace-of-mind and acceptance. 

All he wants is to belong to someone who will love him.  But his previous owner neglected, abused, and ultimately abandoned him on a busy road.  Watson was badly shaken, but a tourist was eventually able to get him into the safety of her car.
