The return of optimism.

It has been wonderful to watch the hope and sparkle return to this older boy's eyes.

At the time of rescue Rusty had just survived some sort of trauma and his spirit was muted in despair.

Rusty is a sweet senior, good with dogs, and reportedly housetrained.

He needs an adult-only home because he can reportedly get moody and become intolerant of strangers.

These three playful, adorable, cuddly puppies -- nicknamed "The Beloved Baby Puppies" -- are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Bear is a boy and his sisters are Bernadette and Betty Lou. They needed us when their previous owner said his Poodle had an "oops" pregnancy with a neighbor's Terrier. We were very happy to rescue the three in exchange for him getting his Poodle neutered.

Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

Bailee is a vibrant young girl who relishes playing hide-and-seek with you.

She is chatty -- not barking, but talking pleasingly to you throughout the day.

Cheerio is a super cute, cheery little trooper now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. 

His warm personality is reflected in his big brown eyes and we love his unique ears. 

Cheerio is a Terrier & Toy mix, neutered boy, 3 years of age, and he enjoys other friendly dogs.

We rescued this sweetheart from another shelter that ran out of space for him.

Petra is a like a hidden treasure who, among 150 other rescued dogs for adoption, has been repeatedly overlooked.  So we asked the good people at Pet'ographique to illuminate her personality and essence with professional portraits, and they did so, donating their time and talent to help her find a forever home.

Petra is a spunky, intelligent young Terrier mix, spayed girl, 3 years young.  She is housetrained, fine with most dogs (despite mild food aggression), and she adores people.

Theodore is a most adorable baby boy, full of love and innocence, affectionate with everyone.

He is a small Terrier mix, neutered boy, 3 months of age, now ready for adoption into a forever home.

Theodore and his mom (Golden Girl, pictured below) were rescued from the mean streets when he was just a newborn.  He was raised with her in our office, since all kennels were full, until it was time to wean him and place him in a foster home until he was old enough to be neutered.

His foster mom is impressed with his playful nature and very loving nature.  He adores his toys and he did fine in an X-pen when she was not home.

After Theodore's neuter and recovery, we reunited him with his mom in the office, and they have been frolicking and bonding and reacquainting.

Both are ready for adoption and they can be adopted separately.  Since they are not in the kennels, but in an office instead, it is important you ask for one or both by name when you visit.

I will greet you every day with loving dances.

At the time of rescue Golden Girl and her newborn baby were alone on the mean streets, trying to survive.

We brought the two into our office for tender loving care and comfort.  Golden Girl was a terrific mama for her baby Theodore.  When it was time for him to be weaned, Theodore went into a foster home. 

Golden Girl is now spayed and ready for adoption.  She is an intelligent, devoted small Terrier mix, about 3 years young.  She earned her name because of her sunny highlights throughout the black coat.

Golden Girl loves people with all of her heart and she is very social.  She also shows signs of housetraining.  She can get fussy with other dogs, but that could be her protective maternal instincts still.

Every time we come in the office she greets with a jubilant dance, standing upright on her hind legs, wiggling her entire body. 

Please ask for Golden Girl by name when you visit.

They call me a sweet little lamb.

Such an enchanting boy, we think Monty is magical and he has a stellar temperament.

The best guess is that he is an Affenpinscher & small Terrier mix.  He is neutered and about 2 years young.

He is affable and lovable, yet he has ridiculously bounced around from owner to owner.  We know he was recently at a government-funded shelter, adopted from there, and then surrendered to us for no stated reason.

Monty gets along well with other dogs.  His wiry outer coat may need weekly brushing.

Seniors like me may especially be grateful for loving homes.

At 12 years of age, Murphy mistakenly gets overlooked by most visitors. 

But he is a treasure!  He is enthusiastic, friendly, affectionate, even-tempered, loyal, and humble.

Please come and meet him.  We think you will find his happy-go-lucky nature simply irresistible!

Murphy is a Schnauzer & Terrier mix, neutered boy, and we rescued him after he was abandoned at a local veterinary clinic. 

He is compatible with other dogs and well-behaved on a leash and in cars and on walks.

The emotional rewards from adopting senior rescued animals are immense.  We hope you will open your heart to Murphy and the other seniors pleading for consideration.

Mixed breeds like me are each wonderfully unique.

Update: Nemo has been adopted!

Nemo is a jolly, loving little guy.

We admire his super cheery nature.

Nemo is a small Terrier mix, neutered, about 4 years of age.

He needed us because both of his previous owners were disabled and unable to care for him any longer.

Nemo delights in other friendly dogs and he is reportedly compatible with mature, gentle children.  He is also reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door).

Please plan on at least weekly brushing to keep his long coat clean and looking good.

How do I find a person who considers adoption to be a lifelong commitment?

Bocci has tremendous charm.

He is as athletic as he is cute, very playful and joyous.

Bocci is a small Terrier mix, approximately 18 pounds and 2 years young.  He is neutered and ready for adoption today.

We rescued him from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space for him.

Bocci enjoys other dogs, especially those who will play and romp with him.  Please plan on regular brushing and grooming.

They are Poodle & Chihuahua & Terrier mixes with the appearance of tiny lambs.  Each weighs just 9 pounds.  They are spayed/neutered and about 9 months of age.

They are tremendous together, so we give preference to adopting them together for lifelong companionship.

We rescued Sophia & Puchie from another shelter.  They are reportedly already housetrained and no reason was given for their surrender there.
