This athletic boy was spotted by an officer running around a dry lakebed near the California border.
Knowing he would succumb to the elements or coyotes if not rescued quickly, the police officer refused to give up as this starved, emaciated Border Collie mix kept running from him.
Creatively, he made a trail of bed crumbs that led into the back seat of his patrol car, and this was successful in getting the dog to leap in.
Hunky Harvey is feeling better now, regaining weight with premium food, and he is ready for adoption into a loving home where he will never have to fear abandonment again.
Hunky Harvey is a Border Collie mix, neutered, about 18 months of age. He is bouncy, joyful, and intelligent, and compatible with other dogs.
Please ask for him by name at Nevada SPCA so we can bring him into the adoption courtyard to meet you.
